Does the Instagram Story Preview Bar Count as a View?

Seeing a story thumbnail or preview in Instagram does not by itself prove that a view was recorded. The important event is whether the story actually opened and played in your signed-in session. What if Instagram automatically advances into the story?
Treat an automatic transition the same way as a tap once the full story stage opens. The viewer-list question is about whether the account-backed story session played, not whether you intended to open it. This can happen when one story ends and Instagram moves to the next account, or when a swipe from an adjacent story crosses the boundary.
If the next creator’s story appears full-screen with its own progress segment, assume it may be recorded. Returning immediately does not provide a cancellation receipt.
