Privacy Policy

Anonymous Story Viewer is operated by Anonystory Editorial Desk. In plain language:

Last updated:

No account, no login credentials

You use the viewer without signing in. We never ask for your name, Instagram credentials, or password. A username is processed on demand to check public content.

On demand, not stored

Lookups run when you request them. We do not build a browsing profile tied to you and do not access private accounts.

Technical logs

Our servers may keep basic logs for security and reliability, such as IP address and request time. Analytics are aggregate and non-identifying.

Cookies and storage

Settings you choose, such as recent lookups, stay in your browser’s local storage and never leave your device. Separately, the third-party advertising and measurement services described below set their own cookies and similar identifiers. Advertising cookies in particular can be read across other sites in the same ad network, which is how personalised ads work. See “Your privacy choices” below for how to limit or turn these off.

Advertising

Anonystory is free and paid for by advertising. We use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to select, deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other sites. You can review or switch off personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get used, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how pages are actually used. We use this only to find usability problems, never to identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and read Microsoft’s terms and opt-out at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.

Your privacy choices

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before advertising and measurement cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer. If you are in a US state with an applicable privacy law, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising through the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link shown on this site. Wherever you are, your browser can block or delete cookies for this site.

Public data and privacy rights

The viewer surfaces content that is already public on Instagram. Public pages may still contain personal data. For removal or privacy requests, contact us.
